Break bread with us...

WHAT'S COOKIN'?

Yesterday, we had a super fun day with an EPIC test bake at the bakeshop. The team prepared 26 variations of croissant and sourdough flaves. From house-made blueberry jam + brie croissant to Ti' Punch Coco Sourdough. Pushing the limits! Most of the ideas fail....but there are a few real jewels. After much hard work in the past weeks, I'm proud to congratulate the IZOLA Core team - we approved an unprecedented three new flavors yesterday.

But IZOLA is not simply about the food. Sure, it starts there - we only serve what we love. Passion. Integrity. Curation.

But what makes IZOLA different? Experience. How we feel as we gather is just as important, if not more, than the food. There's something so special about breaking bread with friends, family, colleagues, strangers...And yesterday, we had bounty at our table...joy.

Pastors Jay, Carlos, and Gina from Common(s) Church joined us at our tasting table. They have been great friends of IZOLA from the very beginning. And as neighbors here in the Ratner building, they've often provided us encouragement and support. Each time they saw our tired faces....a hug and a smile.

And another super special guest today - Spencer! Spencer was employee #1 at IZOLA and was the ONLY employee for a long time. From the beginning of our journey together, Spencer has shared with me his dreams of doing music full-time, and he's been living that dream for the past year since he left IZOLA. We are so proud of Spencer - going after his dreams, doing hard things, taking risks...and seeing the joy it brings? Nothing is more rewarding!

Jay, Carlos, Gina, and Spencer, thanks for breaking bread with us today. We're grateful for you.

RENOVATION UPDATE

A quick note on our pending renovation: We're still working through all the ups and downs that come along with a complex project like this! We'll share more as soon as we can!

WHAT MAKES IZOLA DIFFERENT?

  • We serve our croissants and sourdough hot from the oven, the same way you feed the people you love.

  • We're passionate about creating a memorable culinary experience and, more importantly, delightful hospitality for our guests.

  • We use only the best-tasting ingredients - butter from Normandy, free-range eggs, organic flour, and grass-fed milk. How do we know what's "best"? We test and test and test...more than 800 tests to date.

  • Justice-based mission: We provide opportunities and take action on racial justice, gender justice, economic justice, LGBTQIA+ justice, and environmental justice.

  • The IZOLA Almighty Guarantee: If you are not delighted with your IZOLA experience, we'll cheerfully refund you. Community feedback is valuable to us. To err is human....to recover well, IZOLA.

Believe in what we do?

We want to scale IZOLA's impact. And IZOLA Main, our planned zero-emission dough factory in City Heights, is a key piece of the plan to invest in high-quality jobs in the community and make IZOLA available throughout southern California with a consistent supply of amazing dough. But we must be ready to fight to overcome business-as-usual. Will you invest today to power our progress and become an owner of IZOLA?

This round's equity raise closes on February 29th. Please join us on Tuesday, February 6th, to learn how we can do this together. We'll be holding a fun conversation via Google Meet at 7 p.m. PST, where we'll be sharing with you the plans for IZOLA's future and how your investment determines IZOLA's impact in the future.

*Please only invest an amount you would feel comfortable losing. Investing in private businesses involves risk. Though potential returns are designed to reflect that risk, there is a possibility that you will lose your entire investment.
