These past few weeks have been wheat harvest time in Kansas and Nebraska. A note of gratitude to the farmers among us. Including my cousin Alan who farms the family land, my mom Twila who continues to shepherd 160 acres homesteaded by my great grandfather Charles Pflieger. And thanks to my father John, who helped a skinny 14-year-old (me) follow his own farming dreams a long time ago.
Saturday (31st) for two sets: 10-11a & 1-2p. Jazz Inc is a young jazz quintet whose members all attended the Young Lions Jazz Conservatory, one of the top programs on the West Coast. They're strong in the standards, write original tunes and experiment with jazz, funk, hip hop, and Latin. Come check them out!
I just stole another peach from the hand pie prep...so sweet and juicy. Peaches may be my dinner tonight too. And the hand pies? We hand select every peach and nestle it in our signature 3-day croissant dough....need I say more? These have been selling out, PreOrders recommended.
Garlic lovers only pls...we doubled the garlic and then doubled it again...I've lost my mind..three heaping handfuls in each loaf, slow-roasted until it is literally sweet and buttery.....take your mouth on a journey. Wow! Great job Daphne leading up the bake! PreOrdering is recommended.
